Vancouver police officer arrested for domestic violence

On Sunday, February 21, 2016 a report was made to the Vancouver Police Department regarding a domestic violence situation involving an officer with their Department. On February 23rd, Vancouver Police Officials made a request to the Camas Police Department to initiate a criminal investigation.

On February 24, 2016 at approximately 2:30pm, 43 year-old Gerardo Gutierrez, a Vancouver resident, was arrested by Detectives of the Camas Police Department for two misdemeanor counts of Assault IV -- Domestic Violence.

Gutierrez is currently assigned as a Vancouver Police Department School Resource Officer and has been placed on administrative leave. He is an 8 year veteran of the Vancouver Police Department and had previously been employed with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Gutierrez was booked at the Clark County Jail.
