Pedestrian Critical After Being Struck by Driver in Northeast Portland

On Tuesday February 23, at 7:06 p.m., a pedestrian hit by a driver at Northeast 15th Avenue and Tillamook Street.

The the 27-year-old male pedestrian was suffering from traumatic injuries and was taken to a Portland hospital for treatment to life-threatening injuries.

Police say the involved driver stopped at the scene and has been cooperative. Neither speed or impairment appear to be factors in the crash.

The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team, assisted by the East County Major Crash Team, is conducting a crash investigation.

The intersection of Northeast 15th and Tillamook will be closed as the investigation continues.

The Portland Police Bureau is committed to working with our partners in government and the community to create safer streets and work towards reducing, and eventually eliminating, traffic fatalities as part of Vision Zero.
