VANCOUVER, Washington - On Tuesday, at approximately 7:15 p.m., police responded to a robbery complaint. A 50 year old male had been severely beaten in the parking lot and his vehicle was stolen.
The victim described three suspects, all under the age of 18, as approaching him in his vehicle and demanding he give them the keys. Two of the suspects began to assault the male repeatedly until the victim gave up the keys to the vehicle. All three suspects then enter the vehicle with the victim still inside and begin to drive off. The victim indicated he jumped out of the vehicle and the suspects continued to drive off. The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene, and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
While investigating this incident, several calls were made into 911 about a one vehicle accident near the intersection of NE 124th Ave and NE 8th St. Information provided by callers stated the vehicle flipped over and three juvenile males were seen running from it. The vehicle description matched the vehicle that was just stolen from the victim at the Motel 6. VPD and Clark County Sheriffs Office deputies arrived in this area and set up a containment to attempt to locate the three suspects.
A VPD Officer locates two juvenile males, one 15 years old the other 16, in the area, and stops them. They are eventually identified as two of the three suspects in the robbery and are arrested and booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center for Robbery in the First Degree.
The third suspect is still outstanding as of this time. The investigation is still on-going.
