Arrest made of Retirement Home Owner/Operator in Forest Grove Sex Abuse Investigation (Photo)

FOREST GROVE, Oregon - This morning at 9:43 AM, Forest Grove Detectives arrested Herbert "Howard" Sahnow, 72, in the 2000 block of Elm Street in Forest Grove on a secret indictment warrant. The warrant was the result of a Washington County Grand Jury indictment of one count of Sex Abuse in the First Degree, seven counts of Burglary in the First Degree, three counts of Sex Abuse in the Second degree, and sixteen counts of Sex Abuse in the Third Degree.

Mr. Sahnow is the owner and operator of "The Elms," a retirement community located in the 2000 block of Elm Street in Forest Grove. Mr. Sahnow's arrest caps a five month investigation into his alleged actions while serving as the owner/operator of the retirement facility.

The Forest Grove Police Department is interested in speaking to anyone who has had any alarming or coercive contact with Mr. Sahnow while he served in that capacity. Anyone with information about Mr. Sahnow is asked to call Forest Grove Police at 503.992.3260.
