On Thursday February 18, 2016, at 2:17 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the Money Market pawn shop, located at 13607 Southeast Powell Boulevard, after an alarm company reported a break-in to the business.
Officers arrived in the area and saw that the front of the building was heavily damaged and the suspect was gone.
Officers learned that an unknown male suspect backed a full-sized flatbed tow truck up to the building, hooked a tow cable up to the bars, and pulled the front of the business off, including the windows and door.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the burglar did not escape with any property due to interior security measures.
Anyone with information about this burglary is asked to call the Police Non-Emergency Line at 503-823-3333, or send tips to CrimeTips@portlandoregon.gov, reference case #16-52738.
