Jennifer Bricker was given up at birth after she was born without legs. Fortunately, a pair of loving parents adopted her and taught her there were no limits to what she could achieve.

What the little girl wanted more than anything was to become a gymnast, like her hero, Olympic Gold Medalist Dominique Moceanu. Bricker pursued sports — even baseball and basketball — with unending passion and fearlessness, and eventually became a champion in Illinois power gymnastics.

Already this story is a sensation, but what happens next is nothing short of an incredible miracle.

Bricker discovered her long lost big sister is none other than Dominique Moceanu.

Celebrity ice bucket challenge videos have filled news feeds across America for weeks. Fortunately, at least a few of those willing public figures aren't just talking the good deed talk -- they're opening their thick wallets to combat ALS, too.

Actors Leonardo DiCaprio and David Spade have donated more to the ALS Association than any other celebrities, according to the organization. ALSA confirmed to The Huffington Post that each star donated $100,000 to fight the neurodegenerative disease that affects about 30,000 Americans at any given time.

"People have responded with such generosity it is truly remarkable and we couldn’t be more appreciative," Barbara Newhouse, president and CEO of

Kay, a former military working dog, may have saved thousands of lives by sniffing out improvised explosive devices in Iraq and Afghanistan. His owner just wants to return the favor, and thanks to a successful online fundraiser, that's finally possible.

Kay, an 8-year-old Labrador-pit bull mix, has a tumor on his heart which both decreases the organ's function and, over time, could send him into fatal cardiac arrest. The condition can be corrected with surgery, but it costs around $6,000. Kay's owner, Brandon Donahue -- who was also his handler in the military -- needed a little help coming up with that kind of cash. So he asked for donations online, and thanks to the generosity of 186 peo

After surviving a near-death experience, this lucky dog is back in his relieved owners' arms, thanks to one rescue crew.

Last month, Mark and Susie Sanders of Somerset, United Kingdom, took their two dogs out for a walk along a cliff at Foreland Point in Devon, according to the Western Daily Press. After stopping to admire a view, the couple called out to the pups, and only one of them came back. The other, a springer spaniel named Sprig, was nowhere to be found.

Eight days later, members of a volunteer lifeboat crew -- the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) -- found the pup at the bottom of the 1,000-ft. cliff. Sprig was clinging to a ledge 30 ft. above the water. The crew suc

A 34-year-old Halifax woman with Down Syndrome had a dream come true Saturday when, with the help of her parents, the Guardian newspaper of Nova Scotia, hotel executives who got her a room when everything was booked, and Shania Twain herself, she got to see her hero perform.

Shallen Jackson, who’s been listening to Twain since she was a teenager, reacted exactly the way her parents expected she would when she got the news that she was going to a concert.

“She freaked out,” Jerry Jackson told the PE Guardian Tuesday from his cottage in Nova Scotia. “She just screamed.”

She and her parents didn’t know it at the time, but Shallen would actually get to meet her hero backstage at the pr

A trucker was heartbroken when he realized that his 9-month old Yorkie must have jumped out of the vehicle at a rest stop in Missouri.

When he called local animal officials and they drove to the location, they found the pup waiting patiently for his traveling buddy to return.

Just in time, too. A family was getting ready to adopt the terrier when the officers arrived.

The trucker realized the Yorkie was not asleep in the back seat after he’d driven 170 miles. He had already lost one Yorkie friend who was run over and killed, which caused so much distress that he missed six months of work.
