After surviving a near-death experience, this lucky dog is back in his relieved owners' arms, thanks to one rescue crew.

Last month, Mark and Susie Sanders of Somerset, United Kingdom, took their two dogs out for a walk along a cliff at Foreland Point in Devon, according to the Western Daily Press. After stopping to admire a view, the couple called out to the pups, and only one of them came back. The other, a springer spaniel named Sprig, was nowhere to be found.

Eight days later, members of a volunteer lifeboat crew -- the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) -- found the pup at the bottom of the 1,000-ft. cliff. Sprig was clinging to a ledge 30 ft. above the water. The crew suc

A 34-year-old Halifax woman with Down Syndrome had a dream come true Saturday when, with the help of her parents, the Guardian newspaper of Nova Scotia, hotel executives who got her a room when everything was booked, and Shania Twain herself, she got to see her hero perform.

Shallen Jackson, who’s been listening to Twain since she was a teenager, reacted exactly the way her parents expected she would when she got the news that she was going to a concert.

“She freaked out,” Jerry Jackson told the PE Guardian Tuesday from his cottage in Nova Scotia. “She just screamed.”

She and her parents didn’t know it at the time, but Shallen would actually get to meet her hero backstage at the pr

A trucker was heartbroken when he realized that his 9-month old Yorkie must have jumped out of the vehicle at a rest stop in Missouri.

When he called local animal officials and they drove to the location, they found the pup waiting patiently for his traveling buddy to return.

Just in time, too. A family was getting ready to adopt the terrier when the officers arrived.

The trucker realized the Yorkie was not asleep in the back seat after he’d driven 170 miles. He had already lost one Yorkie friend who was run over and killed, which caused so much distress that he missed six months of work.

Thanks to the collective power of her fellow commuters, 16-year-old Maja Dabkowska escaped major harm Tuesday morning after she was pinned between a train car and the boarding platform on her way to school.

Video of the incident in Dublin, Ireland, shows Dabkowska sandwiched between the front of the train and the sidewalk as bystanders and passengers rush to help. (Warning: Video may be disturbing to some viewers.)

The clip shows dozens of strangers unite to push on the side of the train. They eventually lift it just far enough to free the teenager who'd been trapped for about five minutes.

"No words to describe how thankful I am to all the people that picked the [train] up in order

If you want to manage your emotions you need to focus as much on what you won’t do as what you will do. TalentSmart, an emotional intelligence training company, has tested more than a million people and found that the upper echelons of top performance are filled with people who are high in emotional intelligence (90% of top performers, to be exact). So, I went back to the data to uncover the kinds of things that emotionally intelligent people are careful to avoid in order to keep themselves calm, content, and in control. They consciously avoid these behaviors because they are tempting and easy to fall into if one isn’t careful.

Here are nine key behaviors that successful people try to av

Our hats are off to Amy Purdy for proudly showing off her prosthetics on the red carpet.

The 2014 Team USA Paralympic bronze medalist proudly paired a minidress with her prosthetic legs Thursday night at the OK! TV Awards Party in Los Angeles, an inspiring choice her fans can't stop calling "beautiful" on social media.

Purdy, 34, a 34-year-old pro snowboarder who also appeared on season 18 of "Dancing With the Stars," lost both of her legs at the age of 19 following a battle with bacterial meningitis.

Doctors gave Purdy a "less than 2 percent chance" of surviving the infection, which put her in a coma for nearly three weeks and also took her spleen, the hearing in her left ear and h

The last eight years of Fatcat the bulldog's life have been hard. In 2006, she was reportedly snatched from outside her owner's home and since then, she's lived a life of neglect and abuse, apparently at the hands of people who had used her as a "breeding machine."

But Fatcat's story recently took a wonderful, fortuitous turn -- and today, against all the odds, she's on the road to recovery and back home with her beloved owner of so long ago.

LaShena Harris says she still remembers the day she lost Fatcat. She told Today.com that she had left the pooch outside her house in Memphis for just a few minutes as she ran in to get the dog's new collar. When she emerged, however, Harris says s

Emily Nunez and her sister have led military lives since birth.

Inspired by her father and uncle, Emily became a U.S. Army 1st Lieutenant in Fort Carson, Colorado. Another of her passions is the new company she co-founded with her sister Becky.

While attending a social entrepreneurship event as a senior in college, Emily realized that there were tons of surplus military gear being routinely thrown away that could be recycled into something reusable.
